40 Dayz with Billy Brooks

Keeping with the Tribe original sample vibe, check this one out. This original is too funky! When I first heard Tribe’s “Luck of Lucien” I thought to myself, this sounds like it could be the musical cousin to the theme song for the Barney Miller televison show. Sometimes I wish Ali Shaeed could have used the whole song. Just kidding, but its so, so funky. I just wanted to do my part to keep this type of old school vibe alive. These cats was on some ‘ish back then! I really felt that I had to post this one for those who love Tribe Called QUest as much as I do and scratched their head back in the day like, who is the person who made this original cut, well here you go: Please holla back to let me know how the original compares to Tribe’s “Luck of Lucien”

I had this funny feeling when I listened to the first 8 seconds of the cut…black exploitation movie!! I don’t know which one, but it reminds me of a scene where the main character is riding around in his automobile and shots of the urban grit is in the backdrop!! …Thanx for bringing it back and making it current.
